Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, 2012 - intoPIX – the leading provider of JPEG 2000 compression solutions announced its strategic decision to aggressively boost its IP-core portfolio to better serve its OEM customers and respond faster to the growing demand for JPEG 2000 compression across various industries.

“The rapid evolution within the audio-visual industry towards higher image quality, higher frames rates and higher resolutions is pushing intoPIX to accelerate its IP development”, said Gael Rouvroy, Chief Technology Officer and founder of intoPIX.

Jean-Francois Nivart, founder and former CSO of intoPIX is leaving the company and tackling new JPEG 2000 challenges with Image Matters, a new independent company that will develop OEM JPEG 2000 PCBs for the industry. "I am extremely excited about launching Image Matters", said Jean-François Nivart. “Image Matters has adopted intoPIX JPEG 2000 IP-cores. Our video acquisition and playback boards will benefit from intoPIX powerful FPGA implementation to enable OEMs, integrators and end-users in quickly developing advanced systems and applications”.

Both intoPIX & Image Matters will be exhibiting at NAB 2012, held in Las Vegas, April 14th to 19th.
