intoPIX and Village Island announce the release of VICO-XI, which is equipped with the intoPIX visually lossless JPEG XS codec, allowing IP conversion between uncompressed ST2110-20 streams and compressed ST2110-22 streams of 4K and HD video.

intoPIX announced its partnership with Panasonic Connect regarding the integration of its JPEG XS technology in their PTZ and studio cameras.

To guarantee perfect management of the real-time transfer of video and medical metadata between multiple locations, a new DICOM-RTV communication service standard has been developed. JPEG XS can be used to ease its implementation over 1GbE and 10GbE networks as well as over 60Ghz wireless systems.

IntoPIX has extended its software development kit for JPEG XS with support for ARM-based processors, including Apple Silicon. This enables “real-time performance for HD, 4K and even 8K”, on both ARM and X86-based processors.

The AWS solution uses JPEG XS to lightly compress pictures at 444 12-bit with a latency suitable for interactive working.
