intoPIX announces today the release of new extra small JPEG XS IP-cores for FPGA and ASIC. This release is a revolution in terms of resource usage combined with such compression efficiency.
The primary objective of this new VSF TR-08 is to address LAN, WAN and cloud applications and enable interoperability between products from different equipment manufacturers. It supports the transport of JPEG XS Video in ST 2110-22.
The main focus of the new TR-07 from VSF is JPEG XS. The new codec is really specialized in high-quality and very low-latency and focuses on high-quality live video contribution and transmission over wide area networks.
With the development of the JPEG XS codec device, it is now possible to transmit two 8K video streams simultaneously using a single 10 Gigabit Ethernet cable, leading to a significant reduction in equipment costs.
The JPEG XS enabled VICO-4L-XS. This new converter allows 4K XS encoding/decoding at various compression rates, enabling a 12G-SDI 4K conversion to IP, and streaming in compliance to the SMPTE ST-2110 standards.
